Anup Jose embarked on his entrepreneurial journey after obtaining a B.Tech degree in Electronics and Communication in 2012. At that juncture, he found little allure in the prospect of a conventional job, preferring not to spend his days in front of a computer screen, performing routine tasks. Although initially hesitant to start a business, he was compelled to explore something different.
Two initial start-up endeavours ended in failure, prompting Anup to reflect on his true aspirations. It became evident that his lifelong passion for crafting new creations from available resources held the key to his next venture. Despite his background in electronics and a stint as a software engineer, he realized that true innovation stemmed from personal experiences and setbacks.
Throughout his college years, Anup harboured ambitions of establishing his own company, despite limited knowledge of the intricacies of running a business. He patiently awaited the perfect idea that would address a problem he was deeply passionate about. For nearly a year and a half after graduation, he scoured for this elusive concept, convinced that a deeper understanding of the world around him would eventually lead him to it.
The turning point came when Anup joined a software development company and crossed paths with Shins M Thomas, a former college junior. It was here that Anup honed his skills in design and gained proficiency in various aspects of software and web application development. Inspired by his younger sister's creativity, who handcrafted personalized greeting cards for a friend's birthday, Anup conceived a web application for designing and delivering such cards globally. This innovative idea caught the attention of the public, boosting Anup's confidence in experimenting with new applications, all while focusing on modern and aesthetically pleasing designs.
In due course, Anup decided to leave his job, alongside Shins and another colleague, Bimal Raj. Together with the support of a friend, they founded a digital marketing and software development firm. A team of experts was assembled for each department, and the greeting card portal was further refined, alongside the development of additional platforms. However, their limited knowledge of business operations became a stumbling block, and the firm struggled to thrive. This experience taught Anup a valuable lesson: even with passion and technical expertise, a solid understanding of business is indispensable for success.
Anup found himself in a period of self-doubt and uncertainty until a new idea illuminated his path. To combat his depression, he initiated the process of digitizing his parish's printed family directory. This project quickly gained traction, imbuing Anup with the confidence to pursue it further. The endeavour evolved into a social media-like portal for the entire parish. To bring this idea to life, Anup enlisted the help of friends and former colleagues, forming a team of four, including himself, Shins M Thomas, Bimal Raj (who later served as a mentor), and a new addition, Lijo Joseph. This marked the inception of Infusions Global.
With a humble beginning, the team embarked on the development of the portal, and soon, they began receiving web application projects through their network of contacts. As they continued to progress, Anup delved into studying business concepts online, learning from past failures, and keenly observing their surroundings. He began sharing these experiences and insights through social media, which attracted followers and a supportive community. This newfound perspective and knowledge fuelled his vision to take Infusions to greater heights.
